vide ogames

I remember playing Need For Speed: Underground 2 when I was a kid on the Xbox. My brother got it and I was in love with it. Especially the soundtrack.

Damn, this was my shit. I remember when they'd say, "Hey, hey, yeahhh!!!!" And then I'd blast the nitrous oxide and go 350 mph on the highway. There was no better feeling at the time. It's weird to think that a game's music made me enjoy the gameplay even more. But that goes back to the "vibe" thing, so it kind of makes sense.

I wonder if video games will ever be as good as they were back then. Before all the microtransactions, having to pay for online play, money has been the biggest cause for video games downgrading. I used to have Tales of the Abyss for the Playstation 2 (by the way, amazing fucking game. One of the few that's made me cry), and that game was so pure, didn't suffer from any of the things that new Tales games suffer from today. I checked out Tales of Xillia from the library for the PS3, and man. That game is fucking horrible. So saddening. Such a beloved franchise, ruined with microtransactions on microtransactions on microtransactions. It's so hard to get Gald (in-game money) in that game, but it's available at disposal if you're willing to pay the money. Smh. In TotA it was a fun grind to get your Gald up, and when you spent it on something big, like an expensive ass sword (it was pretty funny because they had utensils as weapons as an Easter Egg, I was dancing on enemies with a knife and spoon lol), the payoff felt so worth it. All that grind, and you could reward yourself with something nice. Now, all you have to do is pull out your credit card and get whatever you want in-game. True, microtransactions weren't a thing for PS2 due to technology not being that advanced, but hey, maybe that was a good thing. I'm listening to Tales OSTs now lol, first Meaning of Birth and now Fury Sparks.

I'm talking about this in light of the whole Star Wars Battlefront thing that EA's been cooking up. I haven't played the game or even watched gameplay but hella people on the internet are getting mad that the entire game has been ruined because of microtransactions. And it sucks too because that franchise was so good. I had the game for the PSP and it was really, really good. The game was so popping that they decided to do a reboot for it. It was aight, I played it at the library with 9. The new game looks like it sucks though, because they're just money grabbing at this point.

Speaking of money grabbing, shoutout 2k. I finally have a ps4 now, and me, Adrian and Javi finally hopped on the park for the first time ever. It was a historic moment in our friendship. It sucks that we let 2k's BS slide when it comes to money grabbing, because they're the only good basketball video game out. I know all you Matthews will say "omg no NBA Live is really good too, probably better than 2k!!" No, it's not. Live is more of a simulation game, a more realistic game. 2k is super arcade like, and that's why I like it. No one plays video games to replicate real life, people play video games to escape real life. I do, atleast.

Kingdom Hearts 1.5+2.5 came in the lib, so I gotta go get it soon. I told myself I'm not gonna buy any video games, except KH3 when it drops. Which is never.

the internet

shoutsout donald glover. im in my room right now at 906 pm, and i really have nothing to do. ps. i dont actually write like this in real life, nor in my journal. not using grammar is triggering me on the lowkey, im just writing like this satirically because im bored. i always wondered why lo fi and emotionally lost people wrote like this. like, i get it, there are problems going on right now, but why does that affect your ability to punctuate your words? idk, i guess it's just a vibe or an aesthetic kind of thing. i can see someone writing like this on their tumblr or something, but im not that kind of dude. no offense to the tumblr users.

the internet is crazy. its beautiful and frightening, so intimate but so universal, and everything in between. it's amazing, and at the same time scary, how powerful the internet really is. i remember watching black mirror and thinking how close we are to living that reality. it's really weird to believe, because it's extremely realistic... i remember the episode where the dude had some chip in his neck and through that he could rewind all of the memories he had seen with his eyes. it was pretty funny and sad when the couple were having sex and were flashing back to the time when they were in prime sex mode. i was going to write out and say that because of technology like that, we're going to virtually have no privacy, but i realized we already have no privacy. our phones and computers' microphones and cameras are on 24/7 (unless they're off, of course, but that's pretty rare in today's society), and those companies and government can hear and see pretty much everything we're doing. from shazam, to "okay google", to "hey siri", to facial recognition on smartphones today, these people make stuff like that so they can see our lives. they say it's done to see what their users' needs are and how they use products, but i think it's for some lowkey illuminati shit that im not educated enough to understand. i wouldn't be surprised, these companies are always on some next level shit that we dont even know about. iphone and samsung already have the technology needed for the smartphone 2 generations ahead of the current one (example, apple already has the infrastructure and technology needed to develop the iphone 12), but they hold that stuff back to 1. ensure that the technology they're utilizing is safe (L @galaxy note) 2. it's also a money grabbing thing. why release the iphone 12 when you know you can release the iphone 10 and still sell out in everything? they give us a lesser product, and we buy into it because the majority believes thats the highest product available. but do you really think apple cares about us enough to give us their most up-to-date highest product? hell no! they save that shit for themselves. i cant really blame them though, a lot of artists do that today. people like ye, kendrick, sza, pharrell, chris brown and thugger have atleast 100-200 tracks done as of this exact moment, they just dont release it because either theyre not confident in the song's quality or they just wanna save it for another day. chris brown just dropped a 40 track album, he clearly has a bunch of tracks laying around that he can just drop and the breezy fans will eat it up because of their insatiable need for some breezy. you cant even front, we all lowkey have an insatiable need for breezy. pharrell just locked up a track for 2117. its in the vault and wont be released until then. i hope im alive to hear it. probably not. i'd be like 118 years ago. who knows? maybe some technology will drop to keep me alive longer. that's that black mirror shit.

anyways, back to the internet. the people are watching me right now as i type this, it's pretty scary. they see through the webcam, hear me breathing, hearing me blow my nose, everything. they're even watching me type this in the website doc live. that's how many eyes they have. however, they're not gonna do anything about it. if they suddenly just took down my shit without notice, people will see some suspicious lowkey stuff is going on. also im pretty sure it would break some freedom of speech thing, idk too much about that though. so theyre just watching me write this. lol, what's up y'all? ik they can't respond, it's whatever. i know there's going to be someone reading this and thinking im some insane, conspiracy theorist psychopath who overthinks and exaggerates everything. first off, im just a thinker, nothing more. as we all are. second, i actually dont have an argument for the second point haha, so you got me there. but in the future when all this shit gets exposed and everyone knows the truth, you'll see boys, shoutout benny.

what was the point of me writing this? i forgot. i scroll down instagram for less than a minute and just like that i forget everything i was writing about. mummys constantly texting me too so thats definitely a distraction. it sucks that our attention spans and shortening over the years. m83 is a really good band.

i want to keep writing but i dont wanna force it. when itll come to me itll come.
